Brings the Morning is designed as a collage on a letter and envelope from Philadelphia Pennsylvania cir 1866, and in the 1800’s Ledger Art style.

This piece spotlights the beginning of the day and more so, the awaking of mother earth and life to the world. From the opening of her hand,  the sun rises to the highest part of the day, represented by the orange circles. Lying before her as witness to this miracle is a dog.  Historically the presence of this animal in European Art symbolizes loyalty.  With some Northern Plains tribes the dog has a spiritual significance within certain ceremonies. The color yellow denotes enlightenment and the position of the dog is subservience, trust and humility.
