Named after one of my favorite classic movies, these flowers are almost as brilliant as Sidney Poidier as he dazzled the Sisters with his kind and charismatic character- these Iris’s shine in the garden for others to enjoy.  Amen.

The beauty of nature inspires me as an individual as well as an artist.  Growing up in the Appalachian Mountains of Pennsylvania, I would take long hikes in the woods and cool off on hot summer days in the Mahantango creek.  The intrinsic beauty of Mother Earth and creation has always been my inspiration.

Iris’s are one of my favorite subjects.   As a thoughtful gift, my husband told me to grab my camera and took me to an Iris farm where thousands of colored petals blanketed a very large area.   I took many pictures of the beauties in all their grandeur; so many colors, and so many to pick from.

The farmer of these irises didn’t allow us to leave without giving us quite a few bagfuls of bulbs.  These bulbs are now growing in the flower gardens of both our mother’s in Pennsylvania and North Dakota- share the gifts.
