Boys Will Be Boys
The American Brewing Company opened in Great Falls, Montana, in 1895. It was known as the American Brewing and Malting Company for a portion of its existence and produced beer and malt for Great Falls and surrounding areas. It discontinued operations in 1919 with the advent of Prohibition.
Boys will be Boys depicts two young men kicking up their heels and borrowing a herd of ponies from a neighboring rival tribe. Borrowing ponies is referred to by most main stream scholars and the public as “horse stealing”. To these young braves, it was an act of gaining honor by taking the enemy’s sacred companion, his war pony, leaving him disabled or afoot. It was also widely known among the tribes that the same ponies that were stolen could be taken back by that same tribe or another enemy tribe the following season.
